The nationwide election for the authentic trade union of government employees has been held peacefully Wednesday. According to Chief election officer Gita Prasad Timilsina, the vote cast was more than 80 percent as per the preliminary information. A total of 129 polling centres were fixed in all 75 districts. The employees ranging up to third class officer had participated in the voting. However, the section officer working as office chiefs did not participate in the election. A total of 55,329 civil servants voted in the election. The vote count of 24 polling centres has been completed so far. The counting will continue during the night bringing the result by the next day. Nepal Civil Servants’ Organization, Nepal Civil Servants’ Union (Association) and Nepal National Employees’s Orgnization, National Free Employees’ Union Centre, and the National Employees’ Organization are the panels contesting the election. Any panel getting highest votes would secure the post of chairman and treasurer, while the second one grabs general secretary, the third one to get vice-chairman and the fourth to get secretary.
